Riflessi dell’anima, provocazioni, catarsi, introspezione nell’arte contemporanea.

“Nature, dreams and other verses”

In the village of Farnese, in the province of Viterbo, there is a truly peculiar exhibition hall in the Piazza della Fonte dell’acquedotto. This room was once the cistern of the ancient aqueduct, but today it houses a permanent exhibition that tells the story through the remains of a World War II bomber.

Starting from August 23, 2024, this space also hosts a contemporary art exhibition, offering the public a unique opportunity to connect history with contemporary artistic expression. The exhibition, entitled "OMEGA", takes its name and symbol from the last letter of the Greek alphabet, evoking the idea of conclusion and closure of a cycle. It serves as a constant point of reference, reminding us of the cyclical nature of life and the importance of understanding both beginnings and ends.

OMEGA is a path, a journey that through its curve and return to history symbolizes the path of life. Even with its difficulties, this journey leads to a greater understanding of oneself and the world. It is a path of reflection: each step forward is a step in history and within oneself, an opportunity to meditate on one's choices and confront one's uncertainties. In the end, life experiences bring wisdom and serenity.

The exhibition can be visited

Friday and Saturday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm

All other days by appointment.

Event organized in collaboration with the Civic Museum “Ferrante Rittatore Vonwiller“, with the socio-cultural Association “Farnese e Tuscia viterbese”, and with the patronage of the Municipality of Farnese.

Thanks to the Municipal Administration of Farnese, in particular the Mayor Giuseppe Ciucci, the Deputy Mayor Maurizio Corizi, the Delegate for Culture of the Municipality of Farnese, Liana Nucci, the Simulabo-Sistema Museale del Lago di Bolsena, the Director of the Civic Museum “Ferrante Rittatore Vonwiller” of Farnese, Caterina Pisu, Silvio Merlani, Galleria Chigi of Viterbo, and the President of the Farnese and Tuscia Viterbese Sociocultural Association, Marco Corizi.

The Boat of the Heart 💚

Participatory art event

Pictorial performance

with Simone Zanco at Happiness Cafè, via Saffi 93, Viterbo

They welcome the project by exhibiting some of the works on display: Libreria Straffi, Galleria Anatomia dell'Arte, Vetus Urbe art and restoration, Trattoria L'Archetto.

Decorators involved: Gaetano Learnato, Elena Sandri, Carmen Merola, Lella, Emanuel Maresca, Arialdo Miotti, Angela Campanile, Stefano di Maulo, Maria Bifulco, Andrea Varrone, Holos Creazioni d'Autore, Barbara Matteucci.

The Heart Boat is a shared sculpture that is part of the Love-Boat project and consists of an installation made up of a variable number of works. The installation is to be considered a constantly evolving itinerant event and represents a journey where the boats, understood as conduits and containers, transport and communicate a message, an emotion, in harmony with the new humanistic renaissance, where beauty lies in rediscovering the right balance of values that are needed to live our society.

In this edition the sculptures are dedicated to the energy center of the heart, the fourth chakra.

The chakras influence our perceptions, our feelings, our choices and even our thoughts, and as almost all of us now know, it is thoughts that create the world we live in, and this is why today it is very important to increase a certain type of energy.

The heart expresses love and compassion and allows us to transform our life experience... our... vision of this experience from the small "I" to the big "I"

Through the silent energy of the heart we develop compassion, kindness, forgiveness, dedication, and we learn to recognize these qualities in others too.

Now we have an opportunity to embark on the path of awakening towards a new spiritual awareness, we can progress as a species and become HUMAN.

Some of the works displayed in the windows, created with the participation of the artists and decorators involved.

Lightness understood as an aesthetic and conceptual quality is a recurring theme in contemporary art.
This concept can manifest itself through various techniques, from the use of physically light materials or by creating works that evoke a sense of delicacy and transparency.
Lightness can also be understood as a philosophical or poetic approach, like a breath of wind that caresses our soul. It is our ability to think lightly that raises ideas and concepts with grace and elegance without weighing us down with unnecessary complications and superstructures. By freeing our mind we counteract the gravity and heaviness of the modern world.
Lightness in art conceals a profound wisdom, as the visual perception and emotional sensation that a work transmits forms a thought that knows how to juggle the various complexities of life.
It's like a bird's flight that glides lightly without ever losing sight of the solid ground of concreteness.
We remember ITALO CALVINO in his book "American Lessons" describes lightness as a quality that allows you to "glide over things from above and not have boulders on your heart".

Multidimensional performance

Friday 29 December at 6.30 pm the finissage of Angelo Rossi's personal exhibition "Desideri in Abbondanza".

Experimentation, contamination, multidimensionality. These are the elements that inspire the “Au” performance. Painting, music and poetry intersect and merge into a texture of sound, light, images, words. After having enchanted those present with his works inspired by the nuances of the condition of greed which are part of his broader project "The Ten Worlds in Art", the artist Angelo Rossi agreed to confront and let himself be contaminated by the poetic dimension of Michela Benedetti and the sound of Carmelo Cannarella in a multidimensional experimental performance entitled “Au”. ... Carmelo Cannarella, in addition to the music and light effects, gave the title to this performance "Au" represents the first and last vowel, a sort of alpha and omega. The poet and actress Michela Benedetti composed and performed a series of poems, inspired by images and sounds. The event is organized by Leonardo Vietri.

shared art studio

DUEXCINQUE, studio d'arte condiviso a Viterbo

On the occasion of the opening of the DUExCINQUE shared art studio in Viterbo, Stefano di Maulo and I exhibited four works each, Stefano created some new paintings created specifically for the event, while I proposed some works that are part of the project

THE IMAGINATION OF OTHERS.

“... A work can be born from an object, a thought, a sound, but another work can also be born from one work. In the general indifference into which we have fallen, the non-deaf voice of someone who offers a different and new interpretation through the recognizable becomes more important and significant than ever. The meaning of Angelo Rossi's work is to undermine the rules of reality, of the authentic, to make us reflect on the possibility that there are multiple readings of anything, that art can be contaminated, interpenetrated, but nothing can coincide perfectly with something else, every time a new connotation is created, a new authenticity.”

Some pictures of the setup

The leitmotif of the exhibition is the female, a topical theme in this era that has been an integral part of my work for about ten years and in particular in the last period with FLOWERS and NUDES.

My idea of feminine is linked to appearance spiritual of the human being and I associate this quality with kindness and delicacy towards the other, with hospitality and the ability to listen.

I think that regardless of gender, man, woman or other, every person of modern times needs to recover their feminine side which, due to a succession of social and cultural events, has slowly faded away, creating an imbalance in individual personalities and an unease in interpersonal relationships.
